It's been documented that one of the reasons the crew didn't find the loud "bang" that marked the start of the accident as startling or alarming as they should have is because they had been pranking each other with for hours beforehand with bangs from the Cabin Re-pressurization Valve. Here is evidence of one of those pranks -- initiated by Fred Haise to startle Jim Lovell, who was in the middle of conducting a TV transmission.
