This forum is for discussion about content found on https://apolloinrealtime.org and https://issinrealtime.org

Very little of the thousands of hours of Mission Control audio on Apollo in Real Time has been heard or documented. As you find moments of interest, post them here for discussion.

ISS in Real Time contains 25 years of life onboard. Post your favorite moments here.

Good news! After reviewing your dispute, VA Media (Valleyarm) Affiliates has decided to release their copyright claim on your YouTube video.

Video title: Apollo 17 - 114:40 - 122:40

Thanks,
The YouTube team

Thanks for the heads up. I've already disputed the copyright claim. This happens quite often: a documentary or something gets put on youtube and it marks the whole thing as owned by whoever made it, and if they used archival footage in it the system claims that they own it. It's ridiculous.

Apollo 17 Moments of Interest / Re: More time corrections?

Excellent work! If you'd like to contribute new timings for any of the photography on Apollo in Real Time, I can give you the excel spreadsheet that we process into the website timings. You can edit the timestamps there and I can get the changes onto the website.

Apollo 16 is being digitized! This means that our project team could get access to the data this summer and begin creation of an Apollo 16 in Real Time.

Apollo 11 Moments of Interest / Improved Apollo 11 MOCR audio transcripts
« on: October 25, 2024, 04:31:08 pm »
I've taken the 11,000 hours of Apollo 11 MOCR audio recordings and have re-transcribed them using the latest Whisper "large-v3" model and a wrapper system called WhisperX. This has provided fewer hallucinations in the transcripts and provides much better utterance timestamps.

These new transcripts replace the existing "large-v2" transcripts and are now live on apolloinrealtime.org/11

New stats:
4,803,618 utterances
42,684,618 words
224MB of text

That's great. They sure left that detail out of the Ron Howard movie :)

Is that example from Apollo 13? Just asking because I'm still in the process of retranscribing Apollo 11 and expect these kinds of errors there. 13 shouldn't have them.
