Today Mission Control uses a similar structure where the engineers who designed a piece of equipment are available during EVA. They sit in a room called the Mission Evaluation Room (MER) and when the crew runs into a problem such as a bolt that won't turn, the person who can answer the exact torque tolerances of that bolt is available on the loop. I don't know what the history of this structure in mission control is, but it's very likely that it's due to the occurrences that happened during apollo 13.

It sounds like you're starting from scratch if you're contemplating using the scans of the typewritten transcripts. Digitizing these into something useable has been a big part of our project, and the OCR problem was a big one https://benfeist.com/digitizing-apollo-17-new-ocr-techniques/

I recommend you pull our copies of Apollo 11, 13, and 17 directly. You can download them here:

I think "booster dummies" might refer to the people who have been using the booster console as a phone booth. Apparently, post launch with booster being vacant and also down in the far corner of the MOCR, booster console was the place to go to make phone calls via the console, and of course these have all been recorded and are available here.

Thanks for your message. I think must have been that person at Goddard screening the film in 2019.

The movie contains many inaccuracies. Many :/ I won't ruin the film for you by listing them.

With that said, it's still very very accurate on the spectrum of the film industry in general. Apollo in Real Time endeavours to always push towards accuracy because we don't have to be entertaining to a general audience in a movie theatre. I think the best intro for the Apollo 11 film would be to point out that it has been made as historically accurate as possible, but if it's accuracy your audience members crave, they should check out Apollo in Real Time, the Apollo Flight Journal, and the Apollo Lunar Surface Journal after the film.

The share button is there (see attached from Apollo 17), however it is inconsistently implemented. I think Apollo 11 still pops up a twitter window when you share. I'll put fixing this on the todo list.
