Very little of the thousands of hours of Mission Control audio on the website has been heard or documented. As you find moments of interest, post them here for discussion.

That's Tony England talking to his wife Kathi about their daughter Heidi. Kathi is pregnant with Heather.
Sadly, Kathi passed away in 2013. Here is here obituary: https://www.dignitymemorial.com/en-ca/obituaries/ann-arbor-mi/kathleen-england-5734715

General Discussion / Re: Accurate edition of Apollo 11 (2019) movie?
« on: January 31, 2023, 01:14:53 pm »
Thanks for your message. I think I must have been that person at Goddard screening the film in 2019.

The movie contains many inaccuracies. Many :/ I won't ruin the film for you by listing them.

With that said, it's still very very accurate on the spectrum of the film industry in general. Apollo in Real Time endeavours to always push towards accuracy because we don't have to be entertaining to a general audience in a movie theatre. I think the best intro for the Apollo 11 film would be to point out that it has been made as historically accurate as possible, but if it's accuracy your audience members crave, they should check out Apollo in Real Time, the Apollo Flight Journal, and the Apollo Lunar Surface Journal after the film.

General Discussion / Re: "Share" button gone
« on: January 04, 2023, 11:29:59 am »
The share button is there (see attached from Apollo 17), however it is inconsistently implemented. I think Apollo 11 still pops up a twitter window when you share. I'll put fixing this on the todo list.

Please do continue to contribute links to thins you find! I very much appreciate the contributions you have made!

Apollo 17 Moments of Interest / Re: Real-Time Seems to be 1 Day Ahead
« on: December 06, 2022, 09:18:58 pm »
It is until 9:55pm ET tonight when countdown begins. Whenever you visit the site on a day of the month that isn't in the mission range, it jumps you into a day that's within the mission range. We're outside the mission range until 9:55pm tonight.

General Discussion / Re: I can put together a transcript for EECOM loops
« on: August 09, 2021, 09:26:53 am »
I know it would be a ton more work (trust me) but the only way these could be used within the website is if each utterance is timestamped. If you create the transcript in this format, I could use it directly:

Code: [Select]
023:27:25|Kerwin|No problems.
023:28:07|Kerwin|And, 13, Houston. That's all the business I got right now. I have a little news plan of the day for you, if you feel like listening to that a little later on.
023:28:30|CDR|Just hold off there, Joe, until Fred's on his headset.
023:28:36|Kerwin|Stand by one, Jim. You're coming in garbled again.
023:29:58|CMP|Houston, 13.

I see that you also have what channel, or position they're in. For this you could add "position" so the format would be:
<when>|<position>|<who>|<what was said>

Yes! We're working on Apollo 16 now. It probably not going to be ready for the 50th anniversary, but we'll try.

I don't know how I missed this thread! Thanks for offering to make EECOM transcripts. If you would like to discuss further how they could be integrated into the apolloinrealtime.org website, please let me know.
