This forum is for discussion about content found on https://apolloinrealtime.org

Very little of the thousands of hours of Mission Control audio on the website has been heard or documented. As you find moments of interest, post them here for discussion.

Very sad news indeed. The Apollo 10 tapes are in the queue to be digitized. It will probably be several years before it's online, but it will happen some day.

Apollo 13 Moments of Interest / Re: Apollo 13 Film vs Reality

On the biomed removal, they only had a few biomed sets, not enough for everyone to wear them at the same time and they took shifts. My guess is that Lovell saying "I don’t have BIOMED on" was because it wasn't his turn and they had gotten mixed up on the ground. I didn't take this as being an act of rebellion.

Similarly, a prank about sleeping in was played on someone during Apollo 11 countdown as well:

Clicking on the timeline is the only way to skip at this point.

His voice sounds like it could be Ed Mitchell. Mitchell was married to Louise Randall from 1951 to 1972.

This is interesting because Gerry Griffin and Ed Fendell tell the story about being at that softball game and seeing people walking towards them across the field and getting that sinking feeling that something is wrong.

No news at all. JSC has been in lockdown for 9 months. Even if there was funding, digitization wouldn't be happening--and there's still no word on funding.

Hi Dan,
The only time the site "now" time really matters is during the mission anniversaries. Any other time of year it's more about jumping into a random point in a mission using the current clock. I hope this helps.

That parameter is generated by the website when you use the share button while the mission control audio is up. When you open the link it will open the audio channel that was selected when the link was generated.

In the comments at this moment, Jack expresses some of the problems with replanning.

No wonder I couldn't remember this discussion, the audio hasn't been digitized yet!
