International (non-US) Contributions to the ISS
« on: November 15, 2025, 10:48:13 pm »
Hello Everyone, I am an avid space enthusiast.
Thanks to our friends who did the hard work of setting up the Apollo and ISS in Real Time and this forum, I hope these posts will serve future readers who wish to discover this international technological achievement.
There are many perspectives to draw from when framing historical events, even relatively recent ones like the building of the ISS.  Remember, the European Space Agency, Roscosmos, the Canadian Space Agency, Japan Space Agency (JAXA) and other national concerns contributed to this endeavor. In fact, the ISS has over 12 nations participating, and add to that commercial launch and hardware providers. I recently borrowed the book Russia in Space by journalist Anatoly Zak through interlibrary loan from Texas A&M University. I also just finished watching a PBS NOVA airing of Operation Space Station: Science and Survival.  I suggest also looking at RussianSpaceWeb.com by Anatoly Zak for in-depth facts, illustrations, and prominent figures in the Russian space industry. I recommend us sharing book recommendations.  For example, please read Terry Virts How to Astronaut. Cheers, and hope to see many posts.
